Sports for everyone

There are many excellent sporting installations in Fuengirola which make it easier for anyone to play any type of sport. These include the Juan Gómez "Juanito" Sports Complex and the José Antonio Elola Stadium which has recently been installed with natural lawn in its football grounds.

In a town which professes such a love for horses, its not strange that all equestrian activities are so popular and Fuengirola provides excellent stables. Fuengirola's surroundings also provide excellent horse trails and pathways which provide a wonderful combination for sports and nature lovers.

However, water sports are, for obvious reasons, the most popular sports here in Fuengirola. It has one of best Marinas in the Mediterranean and the Yacht Club welcomes some of Europe's best yachtmen. Its easy to understand the quality of sailing in Fuengirola when you remember that Theresa Zabell, Olympic champion, started her career here and that many national and international champions also train here.

The fun is guaranteed. You can Surf, Windsurf, Jet ski and Water ski along the beaches of Fuengirola and its surrounds. You can also find some of the best places for holding regattas in the area.

Fuengirola also offers just 5 nautical miles away an area which is ideal for deepwater fishing due to the fact that these waters are the home of the Southern Tuna.
